Enabling Notifications for Executions is a wonderful feature provided to it’s users by BQ. The user can simply execute their tests and continue with other work. Once the execution is complete, they will be notified about the test execution status via the mode of notification that they have enabled.
There are two types of notifications :-
- Email Notification
- Slack Notification
Email : If enabled, the test case status report will be e-mailed to the mentioned email-id, once the execution is complete.
Slack : If enabled, the user will be notified about the execution status via slack, once the execution is complete.
Creating Email Notification #
Follow the below steps to enable notifications for test execution.
- Click on Configure on the left panel.
- Click on Notifications option under Configure.
- Click on Add Notification button on top left corner.
- Enter the meta-data for Notification Details
- Name
- Notification Type : Email
- Email To : enter the email id (on which you wish to receive the notification mail)
- Under Notification Event section, select the checkbox for Execution Complete.
- Click on Save.
Creating Slack Notification #
Follow the below steps to enable notifications for test execution.
- Click on Configure on the left panel.
- Click on Notifications option under Configure.
- Click on Add Notification button on top left corner.
- Enter the meta-data for Notification Details
- Name
- Notification type : Slack
- Enter Slack URL
For Slack webhook setup follow the link here https://api.slack.com/messaging/webhooks - Enter Slack Channel Name
- Under Notification Event section, select the checkbox for Execution Complete.
- Click on Save.
